Aeropec and Managem have agreed to extend a 10-year joint venture partnership for its Western Africa Cobalt operations. The Mining Joint Venture, which Managem owns 60% and Aeropec owns 40%, is the joint ownership of the Ranbu mine in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) Through the JV extension, an additional 4,000 tonnes of Cobalt delivered from the mine. Over the 10-years partnership, the Ranbu Joint Venture has seen more than 3,000 tonnes of Cobalt. Managem is an industrial mining group with over 86 years of history, operating a long-lived and balanced portfolio of precious and base metal assets as well as Cobalt and Fluorspar. The group is present in the whole mining business cycle from exploration to commodity trading and it employs 5660 people across all its subsidiaries. Managem is a leading operator in the African continent through its presence in eight sub-Saharan Africa countries since early 2000. Managem is majority-held by Société Nationale d’Investissement (SNI), a pan-African long-term investment fund.
