During the washing and slicing of potatoes starch is released into the water, and over time the concentration of starch increases, resulting in the generation of foam which when left uncontrolled can adversely affect production efficiency. AEROPEC™ defoamers are added to the potato water circuit at the washing and slicing stage of the manufacturing process, reducing foam build-up, and so optimizing production efficiency and product quality.
Potato Processing

Product | Application | Feature | Chemistry |
---|---|---|---|
AEROPEC 435 | Foam control agent for vegetable washing | General purpose vegetable washing | Blend of polyols |
AEROPEC 436 | Foam control agent for vegetable washing | Used in starch based foam - cold washing | Modified alkoxane copolymer based |
AEROPEC 432 | Foam control agent for vegetable washing | Used in starch based foam - warm washing | Blend of polyols |
AEROPEC 421 | Manufacture of potato flakes, chips and French fries | Used in a caustic bath during potato washing and peeling processes. The natural surfactants and starch present create foaming problems | ester and surfactants based |
